Big blow to mobile users: Jio-Airtel-Vodafone-Idea plans to clear the pocket of consumers
Telecom companies struggling against economic losses have given a big blow to their prepaid customers. The days of cheap calls and the Internet are gone now. Jio, Airtel, Vodafone-Idea have announced a hike in tariffs for their prepaid products and services. This can increase customers' mobile bills by up to 50 percent.
Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea on Sunday announced a 15 to 40 percent increase in their tariffs. This will be effective from December 3. Jio announced on Sunday that it would increase its new tariff plan by 40 percent. Reliance Jio said in a statement that its new plan 'All in One' will be effective from December 6.

The company said that although the new All in One plan would be up to 40% more expensive, it would provide customers with a 300% higher profit if the company kept the customer first policy. Earlier, Vodafone-Idea and Airtel announced additional charges in their tariff plans which will come into effect from December 3.
Pre-paid users may now have to pay 50 percent more for phone calls and data over Vodafone-Idea's network. For example, the 12GB data plan of Idea Vodafone which was Rs 999 before was reduced to Rs 1499.
Similarly, Airtel's new plan increased the daily tariff by 50 paise to 2.85 rupees. Consumers will have to pay more than 46% for Airtel's new plan at Rs 169.
